# Retrieve custom channel grouping in raw API

Hey!

Is it possible to pull the custom channel value directly from session or events API scopes without using the Analytics API?

Hi!  
If you’re referring to [raw data API](https://developers.piwik.pro/en/latest/custom_reports/http_api/http_api.html#tag/Raw-data) then no. Custom channels created via channel grouping are available only in reports ([query API](https://developers.piwik.pro/en/latest/custom_reports/http_api/http_api.html#tag/Queries))
