I would need to clean / mask some elements from the URL / path from analytics data. Is there a suggested way to do this with standard implementation with tag manager?

I use the option to track pageviews manually in the standard tag and then use a virtual pageview tag for controlled URLs and titles from JS variables. Works just like expected. Would you prefer to use configuration fields to overwrite those dimensions?
