Difference between GA UA & Piwik on homepage as entry page only

I started using Piwik Pro about a week ago. I am now comparing Google Analytics UA & Piwik Pro. I noticed volume of entry page visits for individual pages are very similar, except for the homepage.

According to Piwik I have had 34 entries on the homepage yesterday, but GA tells me I have had 66 landing page sessions on the homepage that same day. All other pages have very identical volumes, it’s just the homepage that’s very far off.

Do you have any ideas or suggestions?

Hi. Try maybe applying different segments to check how the proportion changes. E.g. by picking certain operating systems or browsers. I’d try to find a single session that started on the homepage, but didn’t mark that one as entry URL. In Piwik PRO you can check that via session log.
