Two CMS in one domain

Hello, my domain is made on two CMS: contentful and shopify, I cannot creacte goals in piwik pro. I thnik my goals are made wrong. Can you help me?

Hi Patrycja,

Are those goals set up for automatic or manual tracking?

Best,
Oliwer

I try do this manually. My domain is made on contentfull and shopify

And how does the manual setup look like?

Is it through tag manager or do you implement it directly to the source code?

I dont know:/ I try do this by GTM by its no works, I thnik

And what did you do in GTM to implement goal tracking?

Here’s our guide on setting up goals: Set up goals | Piwik PRO help center

So I made the same way like is in yours guide but its dosent work. I cannot see purchase oraz value of purchase.

Could you share with me in a private message what’s your Piwik PRO account address? I’ll look into it

Hi Patrycja,

The exact reason why the goals are not tracked:
In your setup you’ve used an automatic tracking with this condition definition:
Custom Event Name contains “purchase”
In your custom event report I see no Custom event with name containing “purchase” So there was no case where such goal could’ve been tracked.

What I believe was the intention:
In short: tracking purchases as goal conversions as order tracking isn’t working
Expanded: I’ve noticed that you use ecommerce setup and that you collect information about items added to the cart. What got my attention is the fact that there are no orders (having order events would still not result in tracking goal conversions with the current setup as the goal is triggered only when a custom event happens and order is not a custom event), so I’ve checked the setup in tag manager and I’ve found a tag called “Zakup”, which is using the ecommerce order template and have fields filled in (I presume correctly but that depends on your dataLayer setup), but the trigger attached is a dataLayer event trigger, which have this setup:

I believe it’s incorrect and most likely the intention was for the page URL value to contain “/thank_you” but not the dataLayer event name itself. I would quess that the name you are looking for in this trigger is “purchase” but that again depends on dataLayer used on your website.

My recommendation:
I recommend looking into the trigger of order Tag (named “Zakup”) in your instance, once ordering works I believe the goal will no longer be necessary, but If you need orders to be also tracked as Goals (have in mind that they will now be two separate events that would result in two action for one user interaction), then instead of using automatic goal tracking, you should switch to manual goal tracking and use the same trigger for the goal conversion tag as you’re using for the “Zakup” tag.

Best,
Oliwer

Thank You, for yours trip. I do chanes like you recommended. An also I have a question. How to make a reale value of purchase in piwik pro? In this way is correct?

You mean asign the value to the goal? If you want to use goal for collecting revenue value in case of manual goal I would set it up in the goal conversion tag:

if you use automatic tracking and the revenue is always the same then you can sign the revenue value in advanced settings, if it’s not the same every time then you have to switch to manual tracking

Best,
Oliwer

To be honest, I can’t do this alone. It’s too hard for me. Can you send me a quide for doing this?

Hi Oliwier,
I have that`s views:

or

I cannot finde the view, which you send me

And I made the goals in tag manager exactly the same as in Google Tag Manager. Even in the debug view I can see the same of them, but goal zakup not, is it possible because of shopify politics? Even in Google Tag manager I cannot see this element.

Hi Patrycja,

I’m not sure I understand you, but in regards to shopify, if you are using it then it most likely will be easier to follow this guide instead of trying to use goal conversion for tracking ecommerce events: Shopify: install a tracking code | Piwik PRO help center

Best,
Oliwer

Thanks for this instruction. I have a few questions:

  1. My store is not fully built on Shopify, only the cart is. Does this mean that I should only integrate the Shopify cart? And how can I do that? I can’t seem to isolate the cart from the rest of the site and the other CMS. The developer won’t help me with this, as they don’t have the time.

  2. The part where you insert the code in the checkout doesn’t work for us at all, and it doesn’t track sales, not even for Google Ads.

  3. Is there another way to integrate Piwik so that it tracks purchase conversions with their value?

If I do like on the screen it`will be ok?
