Combining accounts when Core gets retired?

Hi there - we currently have multiple accounts (one for each subsidiary, each one just for one domain). Given that Core gets retired and Business gets rolled out, we’d like to combine those accounts under one account.

I currently don’t see a way to do that other than manually recreating all goals/custom settings and losing historical data. Are there plans for offering this feature before forcing an upgrade to a paid plan?

+1 - i am requesting this also. this would be great.

Hello @KarHeadPeace

We are not planning currently to implement that feature. Unfortunately only option to combine multiple accounts together is to do it manually.

I created a formal feature request for this. You can upvote it here: Tool to Merge/Combine Core Accounts for New Business Plan

That is a bummer. I created a new feature request in hopes that you’ll reconsider if there is sufficient interest from the community.

A HUGE bummer. I’ve got more than 10 clients and each has their own instance so they can have full control of their domain’s data in tandem with me.

Wouldn’t it make sense from a business perspective to offer an account merger tool? As an analytics person, I always assumed that friction reduces conversions.

If we have to manually recreate all our site settings and lose historical data, that’s going to trigger a reevaluation of which analytics platform to use. On the other hand, having a seamless transition tool would make upgrading from free to paid the obvious choice rather than something that needs to get researched.

The current approach basically forces loyal users into “should we switch platforms?” mode. A simple merger tool would turn potential churn into revenue growth. Seems like a win-win?

Ah, I just saw pricing between separate accounts and a single account are virtually identical - so EUR 65 for 2 domains on one account vs. EUR 35 per account with each domain on an individual account, so I see why this wouldn’t be supported.

To be honest - the action-based pricing under the business plan works out to a CPM of $1. That’s cost prohibitive to mid-sized ‘content sites’, so we’d be priced out anyway.

@thomasgerstmann, @David_Culbertson, @KarHeadPeace thanks for flagging this need.
I’d like to have a deeper look into your needs here and inspect how can we sort this out for you. I understand that you’d like to merge some of accounts you manage, but provided the workload it would requitre and scope of that - it will be super hard to deliver under our roadmap.
Could you send me a direct message and elaborate on the setup you have, what would be the expected outcome you want to achieve, what problems does it solve for you.
I’ll be happy to have a closer look on your needs and look into our options.
