Goals based on page url contains greatly higher than form submit custom event

Hi All,

Wanted to inquire why my goal conversions setup within Piwik to track page URL containing a string would be so much higher and more consistent than the goals setup based on a sent custom event [form submit]

When I test with debug mode the event and goal in the debugger - both fire and track.

Does the goal setup based on page url track conversions even when no consent is provided leveraging anonymization methods leading to it being much higher? Only thing I can come up with to explain it albeit if thats the case not sure why these things aren’t more verbalized and emphasized.

Can you provide me with a URL to the site you are referring to? You can leave it here under the post or share it with me via dm.

Do both of these goals exist in your setup or have you removed them? It would be great if both of these were still there.

I am speculating here:

Could it be that the Custom Event isn’t always firing before the form page unloads? If that is the case, I do not know what a solution would be.

Again, speculating. I’m curious to hear what you and any others find in this thread.
