Hi Piwikers,
So we have a goal event X (clicking on CTA buttons). What kind of report or set up shall we set to get the following:
know which pages assisted to that conversion during same sessions (is it possible during different sessions? -if cookie is not deleted-)
So we track the performance of blog posts to know whether a given blog post pageview happened in a session where a CTA goal event happened, for instance: is this X blog post assisting conversions somehow during the customer journey?
I remember in GA having the possibility to have a report on assisted conversions (vs last interaction that preceded the conversion). So to us any page that wasn’t the last visited before the goal event happened is Assisted Conversion.
I don’t know how to achieve this in Piwik, if it has to be a funnel type of report (and how) or a userflow type (and how).
I would recommend trying the reverse user flow report, where you define the key action (CTA button click) and look at the interactions that happened before that. You can then see the whole visitor journey before they converted, or use a filter to only see the blog pages and how they contribute
Standard funnel and user flow reports in Piwik PRO analyze interactions within the same session, so it won’t be possible to look at paths that span across multiple sessions.
Reverse user flow means that the key interaction is the last one, and you analyze steps before it. It’s still called “user flow” when you create it, the difference is just in the positioning of the key action.
If the event is not a page view, you need to switch this option to “all events” first:
