I’m looking for a way to explore segment behaviour. I’ve set up several goals and for the goal ‘purchase completed’ I’d like to see which pages were visited before the goal was completed.
I’ve seen the funnel report but that’s not what I’m interested in, I want to see which pages are visited before the goal is completed (not the purchase funnel).
I’ve tried several reports / dashboards / segments but I cannot find the way to look into this.
Is this possible with Piwik Pro?
User flow report but your central view is over goal
Go to Goals → Select your goal → User flow tab
You should see default report with 2 previous pages before goal
You can save the report or edit it and add more pages before that (total objects max is 5 -so 4 steps + goal)
User flow report but your center view is over page where goal is happening
Same as in point 2 - but you set last step as place where goal is done, or right before it. That way you can check all the traffic, that converted or didn’t convert and see bigger picture.

Simple “Page + Previous page path” report
Make segment with your conversions
Create custom report, add columns for page views and previous page path. You can edit report in Behavior → Pages as a starting point
You should see pages + previous page path for your segment. Important note - it will include every interaction from those sessions, so both steps before and after conversion. I suggest using data from event scope here, as in this report we are looking on each particular page view event, not on full session.
Use session log - it’s not made for this, it’s not agreagated, but can give you overview if you don’t have lots of conversions about all the interactions done in session
Go to Reports → Session Log
Select either segment with your goals, or use filters above data (ie. session goals = purchase completed, or goal count - whatever works for you best)
You now have report where you can check specific sessions, how and what users did if session included your goals
