New session while Referrer URL on same domain

Hello,

I don’t understand how this is possible, as both entry & referrer URL share the same subdomain:

Also, Piwik PRO is installed on the two pages. Page views are regularly detected on both:

The session max duration is set to 12h:

And these options are turned off:

The full referrer URL contains multiple parameters, as it’s a landing page used in Google Ads. The new session that starts on the page “/heyflow/projet” loses all of these and is simply attached to source / medium “direct / direct”:

Thank you!

Hi @Thomas_Anode_FR,

Could you share the account URL and the date when this case happened? I have a theory but I’d like to confirm it first.

Could you update this topic. I also see a big amount of transactions missing the initial source / medium. Exampel; user starts the journey with google/organic … browses through the first steps in the basket, but does not close the tab. Comes back 2 hours later, and a new sessions starts where he left in the basket process. But this time the source medium is direct / direct. In the session log or ecommerce report you can see the number of sessions. so Piwik does recognize the user, but somehow changes the channel and source / medium. My settings are similar to the ones from Thomas. Regrds Martin
