Website speed metrics?

I would like to know which of these values best reflects how my website users perceive the website speed.

  • DOM
  • Page rendering time
  • Time to interact

At first I would think Time to interactive. But online I read a lot about this and often come across the story that TTI cannot be measured via Real User Monitoring, while that is what PiwikPro actually does, right?

Hi. I’d say time to interact is going through the whole process described for instance here: Announcing Real User Monitoring (RUM)

With dom load and page rendering time you get only part of the time needed to actually load the page and execute javascript / render html.
