The “Click URL” trigger that I configured in Tag Manager is not firing and cannot be found in Analytics.
I see in debug mode that the trigger is not firing. Who can help me?
I checked this topic before I made my topic:
Tag is not firing on the page. How to troubleshoot?
Hi! There is an “events” tab in the debug mode where you can look into all events that happened on the site - you can start by finding the click event that should trigger your tag and checking the variables for that event. There should be a “click URL” variable there that you can use to compare with your trigger.
Generally when you’re setting up a trigger based on click events, it’s good to first look at the specific event in the debug mode and see the different variables so you know what to use
Hi Sara,
Thank you. In debug mode, I can see that the trigger has fired, but I don’t see it reflected in the ‘custom sessions’ in Analytics.
I only see the events ‘Heatmap events’ and ‘built-in page scroll’.
A trigger is only a condition - the tag is what actually sends data to Analytics. In Debug mode, please also confirm whether the tag appears under “Tags fired” after the click.
