I suggest adding an extra option for setting up the site search: lowercase queries automatically.

Is that about better aggregation in the report for search keywords?

Are there other dimensions that it would make sense to lowercase?

Yes, just for aggregation purposes. The same would be useful also for campaign names etc, or maybe even for the url path and all the parameters.

At the moment, I need to aggregate uppercase + lowercase in external tools.

@Mikko_Piippo the other option is to use the javascript option and manually set up search tracking in Google Tag Manager or Piwik Pro tag manager

here is what your event script should be

+1!!

Lowercase for search term, (utm) source, medium, campaign, full url etc is very much needed to enhance data quality. It’s possible to do everything client side with javascript, but it’s more convenient to have this sort of post-processing server side.
