Is Historical Data Retained When You Delete A Goal?

I am trying to confirm that I won’t lose any historical goal conversion data if I delete an existing goal.

We recently set up an API goal and are currently double counting the event from the former page view goal.

Logically, deleting a goal wouldn’t remove the historical data from the account, but I want to be 100% certain about this before taking action to remove the duplicate.

When the goal is deleted the data is not affected. In case of data exports (UI or API) you can see non-existing goal uuid instead of the name.
