Yesterday, 19 of nov. 2025, reports in looker studio returned error messages instead of data. New connections can not be created as it throws an error. See screenshot below. Also I noticed that it now only asks me to Select instance. Before it will also ask to select website too. These issues appeared after Piwik had a “under construction” message on their website. So I believe this needs to be fixed by Piwik.
Hi! Have you tried completely removing the connector and setting it up again (with new API keys)?
Yes, I just tried it now.
- Deleted and created new api key.
- Created new data source (directly, not through report)
- Selected Add new/overwrite (see screenshot)
- Set my path, user name and password
- Tried new connection (which has same name as before cause of same path)
- Same error, the API key is not possible to update as error come before that step
Could someone please try to set up a Data source in Google Looker Studio and see if they get the Piwik connection to work? That would clarify a lot for me ![]()
Yey! I figured out this one. Solved by creating new client id and secret.
