Need help to create Piwik Pro Tag following a GA4 Example

Hi Community,

Please see the following help article:

https://support.mindbodyonline.com/s/article/How-to-track-E-commerce-purchases-with-Google-Tag-Manager

For the “create a tag step” can any provide me direction on how to achieve the same thing for PP using custom html? I’d also be happy to just trigger an event (which I can goal tracking for) instead of full blown ecommerce.

Hi @David_Culbertson ,

Have you tried using the dedicated “Ecommerce order” tag? Why are you trying to use custom HTML?

Because I’m using google tag manager for this particular site since it’s built into the backend.

@Maciej_Kowcun,

Can I run the Piwik Pro tag through GTM (firing on all pages) then use tags in the PP tag manager to match what the help article says to do in GTM?

If you add the Piwik PRO tracking tag in GTM and limit PP TM to track only e-commerce events, the setup will not function correctly.

The simplest solution is to configure TM to track all events.

If you want to track e-commerce events through GTM, the only option is to use custom HTML. Below are some resources that might be helpful.

@Maciej_Kowcun,

Thanks for the advice. As it turned out, I was able to set up goal tracking because mindbody allows for adding GTM to the site through which we fire the PP tag. And, thanks to PP’s cross-domain tracking, we’re getting “thank you” page data.
