Hi, I received upgrade communication and I saw this message in the process:

I have questions about implications before I perform this step:

  • How does CookieInformation thing work with categories of tags in Tag Manager?

  • How does this change affect integration I have currently set up now with CookieBot as my Consent Manager? It would talk back to Piwik PRO Consent Manager over API. How will that work with CookieInformation?

  • Are there any resources showing how that would actually look in the UI? For example how options for managing this new consent look like? Some documentation or video?

  • How does the process look like for providing Invoicing (VAT EU) details?

  • We have dedicated tag for our Cookie Information CMP:

That one might answer your first question, tag is basically used to create mapping of consents between Cookie Information and Piwik PRO Tag Manager.

  • You you are using Cookie Bot that means you are not using our Consent Manager - so nothing should change in your current setup if it’s working.
  • As for third question, do you mean how the Cookie Information banner looks like or app interface itself? You can find example templates here: https://templates.cookieinformation.com/

Thanks for the answers. But this is not clear for me: CookieBot integration is integrated through Consent Manager API, so will this be still available?

In case I don’t change anything and upgrade, CookieBot would stop communicating decisions to Piwik PRO, right?

As for the templates: none of these would work for me. Curently I’m using “consent bar", so a screen-wide bar at the bottom of the page. Is such available? Is it allowed to build own UI like it was with PP Consent Manager?

I was also asking how does the process look like for getting the invoice, it would be good to know beforehand how to do this so I can pay as a company

  • Yes, Consent Manager API should be still available
  • No, it still should work if you are using standard Consent Manager API functions
  • There shouldn’t be any problem with invoicing to your company as far as I’m aware
  • If there isn’t template in Cookie Information with consent bar like in Piwik PRO, you would have to build your own, but Cookie Information has option to edit consent code so it shouldn’t be a problem
