URGENT: Unprocessed Data?

Having a very strange issue: It appears that, for last week, Piwik Pro greatly undercounted events for one website I manage. For the last 7 days, here are session counts:

Piwik Pro - 224 (-7i% from the prior week)

Umami - 805

AHREFS - 651

The numbers from Umami and AHREFS are much more in line with what I expected to see based on past performance.

As perhaps proof that something is amiss, the Google Ads integration in PP showed 18 clicks from campaigns but PP only shows 2 session. In typical week/month, I’d expected the number of counted sessions from ads to be around 90% of clicks.

Something is wrong - I need someone to check the backend on this!

ADDENDUM: I added a Matomo tag last week. Could that be the problem??

Hi David! Are there any errors in the console while using the website? Piwik PRO and Matomo both use _paq.push() and that could lead to incorrect tracking (more information here).

Good morning. Due to the urgency, I paused the Matomo tag in Google tag manager, which this website is using. The behavior was strange. Some visitor information was received, but, comparing against another analytics package that I have on the site, the numbers were simply suppressed as if the Piwik tag didn’t fire every time.

I’m just going to note this as a lesson learned.
