Manually Triggered Goals Not Displaying

Hi,

We are having a problem with manually triggered goals displaying as 0 against the pages they should be triggered on.

We are using these manually triggered goals to track form submissions on the website.

Custom Events (form submissions) should trigger the Goals, which are then displayed in a table (in the “Marketing performance overview dashboard”), against the URLs that contain the relevant forms.

If I use the “Debug mode” and the “Tracker debugger” to test the forms myself, I can see the Custom Events firing and the Goals being triggered.

And the Goals that I have generated in this way seem to be displayed in the table.

But I don’t see the Goals for real website visitors who have filled in the form.

I know this because I have also set up Custom Report Funnels between the form page and the thank-you page.

So I will see that 10 people have visited the form page and 5 of those arrived on the thank-you page. Which means 5 people submitted the form and I should see 5 people in the Goal conversion table.

But the table shows 0.

Since when I use the debugger and the tracker, I see the Goals triggered when I submit a form, it feels like a reporting issue. But I also see the Goals that I triggered in the table.

So I am at a loss.

Can you help?

Thanks!

Hi,

Welcome to our community!

So to sum up, you see goals being triggered when you are testing it, but you do not see visitors triggering them?

This seems to me like a behaviour you’d see if you didn’t publish the tag manager changes. Can you confirm if those changes were published?

Best,
Oliwer

Hi Oliwer,

Thanks for getting back to me!

All the icons next to the Tags are green and it says the Tag status is Active for each one.

I suppose it’s possible that I published them and then made some changes and didn’t remember to republsih, but I don’t think that was the case.

Thanks
Cai

Any further thoughts on this Oliwer?

I have republished all the tags, just to make sure, and I’m still experiencing the same problem.

Thanks
