Trying to understand where data is stored and came across this ressource

How is Piwik PRO Core hosted?

Piwik PRO Core is hosted in Germany and we guarantee that the data remains at rest in European Economic Area. Our infrastructure for Piwik PRO Core is hosted in the Azure platform in Germany and data is replicated (for disaster recovery) to a different physical location, also in Germany. We follow strict guidelines on data encryption, do not replicate, transfer or process data outside of EU. Also all our technical and support staff is located in the EU, ruling out the possibility of the acciden…

It is important to us that data is stored i the EU

Checking the Core DPA ( 2.5 data Storage)it does not seem that clear where data is actually placed

PIWIK PRO DATA PROCESSING AGREEMENT

Is there a better resource explaining where data is stored or a way to check it is the interface?

You’re right, our DPA is missing the exact Piwik PRO region for Core which is Germany West Central (Frankfurt) service operated by Microsoft Azure. See below:

Hi there!

We received a notice back in August about Piwik switching the storage location “Currently, your data is stored by Microsoft Ireland Operations Ltd., One Microsoft Place, South County Business Park, Leopardstown, Dublin 18, D18 P521, Ireland. We are planning to migrate your organization, along with all your data, to a new sub-processor, Elastx AB in Sweden, at Kungsgatan 9, 111 43 Stockholm.

Elastx is fully European-based and holds internationally recognized certifications, including ISO/IEC 27001, ISO/IEC 27017, ISO/IEC 27018, and ISO 14001, which strengthen legal certainty around information security and compliance obligations. With our new offering, this migration will involve all organizations that were on Piwik PRO Core as of August 3, 2025.”

Will you update the DPA? It is currently not consistent.
